Hawaiian Taro
Hawaiian taro plants are used to make
poi, taro chips, and luau leaves. Taro roots are also
served as a vegetable and is used as an ingredient in cooking.

Hawaiian Taro Festivals and Farm Tours
East Maui Taro Festival
The 15th annual East Maui Taro festival will take place
April 28-29, 2007 in the remote town of Hana on the Island of Maui.
The event typically includes
cultural demonstrations, hula and chant performances,
Hawaiian music, crafts, food booths, a taro pancake
breakfast, a tour of the National Tropical Botanical
Garden, and a tour of the Kapahu Living Farm taro patch.
Honouliwai Taro Patch Farm
This taro patch farm on the eastern side of the island
of Molokai offers tours to visitors.
Kipahulu Ohana Taro Patch Tours
The guided cultural hikes offered by the Kipahulu Ohana
include a Native Hawaiian guide, a one hour hike, and a
visit to the taro fields at Kapahu Farm.
